Kaizer Chiefs left-back Simphiwe Mtsweni has been released on bail after he was caught speeding over the weekend.

The Stars of Africa Academy graduate was allegedly caught flying along the N12 freeway in the Alberton area driving at almost 200km/h when the cops bust him at a speed trap, Daily Sun reported on Tuesday.

But the Chiefs defender, Simphiwe Mtsweni allegedly didn’t stop!

“It reportedly took three Ekurhuleni Metro police on motorbikes and one in a cop car to eventually corner him at the Edenvale exit on the R21 freeway,” according to the report.

“He was bust going east at 196km/h on the N12 freeway and Cops said he claimed to be rushing to a club soccer camp.”

Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa said: “This is the player’s personal matter. The club can’t comment further.”
