Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure has urged fans to be patient while Ebola screening is carried out before Africa Cup of Nations games.
Supporters and police have clashed before a number of games after delays due to Ebola tests outside the grounds.
"I think the fans need to know that they have to be checked, definitely," Toure told BBC Sport.
"Ebola exists and sometimes people - when they don't have people around them who have it - don't believe in it.
"But I think people need to know that Ebola is there and we all need to make sure that this disease doesn't increase.
"It's very important that people just think you can get it in the stadium, because one guy [could have] it and that's why I think it's very important to be checked.
"It's the most important [thing], more important than the game because nothing is more important than life."
World Health Organisation (WHO) workers, who are carrying out the Ebola screening, are meeting on Thursday to discuss concerns over their safety after further crowd trouble at the finals in Equatorial Guinea.
