'Having two strikers on at the same time is just a disaster,' says RDS ahead of Polokwane clash

Ajax Cape Town will play with just one lead striker for tonight’s Absa Premiership match against Polokwane City because coach Roger de Sa feels two up front just get in each other’s way. “Having two strikers on at the same time is just a disaster. We’ve tried them together in friendlies‚ in training ‚ in matches and it has never been a hit‚” he said. This means the Ajax lineup is expected to feature just one lead striker‚ backed by two wide attackers in a 4-3-3 formation.Veteran Nathan Paulse is likely to again get the nod for a starting line-up berth after he scored against Orlando Pirates last week. He starts ahead of Prince Nxumalo and Joaquim Lupeta.“Prince is coming back from an injury and is still not at this best. It’s a bit of headache to chose between the two but Nathan’s played in our first two games and got both our goals.”Lupeta‚ signed from Bidvest Wits‚ would seem to be the third-choice at the moment.De Sa did bring on Nxumalo to join Paulse in attack for the closing stages of last week’s defeat by Pirates‚ but neither were able to conjure up a late equaliser.“It was maybe a mistake on my part to do that against Pirates. Maybe I should have freshened things up wide instead.”De Sa said he was also concerned about the form of Bafana Bafana centre-back Rivaldo Coetzee.“I think he is a bit fatigued but we’ve got to back him and give him all the support.”Orlando Pirates to probe viral video of alleged airport bust-up between coach Ertugral and player GyimahOrlando Pirates will investigate a video clip that has gone viral allegedly showing an altercation involving coach Muhsin Ertugral and player Edwin Gyimah at Cape Town International Airport‚ the club has said. Coetzee has hardly had a rest with all the national team commitments plus going to the Olympic Games with the SA under-23 side last month. The danger in the Polokwane City side is veteran midfielder Jabu Maluleke.“He is as good as anyone in the league. They are a tough team. Even if they are losing they will still keeping coming at us and fighting to the end. So we are expecting a tough evening‚” De Sa added.- TMG Digital..
