Wits more worried about next game against Maritzburg than title, says coach Hunt

Gavin Hunt took Bidvest Wits opening a three-point gap at the top of the Absa Premiership on Thursday night in his stride and refused to get drawn into talk of a strong league Absa Premiership title chance.

Wits beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 at Bidvest Stadium on a night when Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a 2-2 draw by Platinum Stars at Lucas Moripe Stadium‚ in a potentially momentous evening in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) history.

The Clever Boys‚ with four games remaining‚ stand poised for a first league title in their 96-year history.

“We can’t worry about that. We’ve got to worry about Maritzburg and the next game‚” the coach said in characteristically understated fashion.
