Best & worst looks from the #SONA2016 red carpet

Mandla Mandela and his partner arrive at the State of the Nation Address on February 11, 2016.

The State of the Nation Address may be focused on political topics but with every important event come important fashion moments. Here are our best and worst looks from the night

BEST DRESSED

Chief Mandla Mandela and his wife wore matching outfits at the SONA last night. They made a stunning couple, but the question on everyone’s mind was where was his new bride Rabia?

Thuli Madonsela wore a yellow Gert-Johan-Coetzee designer gown, but didn't it look a bit like the dress Bonang wore last year? Regardless we’re loving her new hair-do.

Another best-dressed couple were the Gigabas looking both dapper and flawless. Mrs Gigaba was of course wearing Gert-Johan-Coetzee.

WORST DRESSED

When something doesn’t look good, social media will find out about it. Naledi Pandor was mocked for looking like Halle Berry’s not so lovely twin.

ANC MP Dumisani Livingston Ximbi and his wife, Nthombethemba, looked like they were dressed for different events. He looks like he's stepped off  the cover of the Beatles's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, while his wife seems ready to go to a traditional wedding - a little coordination never hurt anybody!

Mpumalanga MEC Dikeledi Mahlangu didn’t impress us with her red carpet fashion. She looks like she's ready to star as one of the Pink Ladies in a theatre production of Grease.
