Madiba 'in good hands'

FORMER president Nelson Mandela is in good health.

Presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj said yesterday that, given Mandela's age - he turned 94 this year - he was in good health.

"He is doing very well, is in good health, is comfortable, and is receiving the best medical attention.

"We are appealing to people not to worry and to remain calm," said Maharaj.

Mandela was admitted to 1Military Hospital, Pretoria, on Saturday, sparking fears in South Africa and abroad that he was gravely ill.

"Mandela had a good night's rest ... he is in good hands."

Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula visited Mandela yesterday morning but could not say how long he would remain in hospital.

"Doctors are still waiting for the results of the tests ... it is too early to say," she said.

In February, Mandela was admitted to a Pretoria hospital for minor surgery for abdominal complaints.

He was treated at Milpark Hospital, Johannesburg, in January last year for a respiratory infection.

If Mandela is in good health, surely he will be groomed to be displayed again by Zuma and his ANC Mafiosi in front of the drooling credulous cadres attending the Mangaung circus as "proof" that Mandela endorses Zuma and his catastrophic mismanagement for another period of ransacking the country.............

Ironic the Madiba is in good medical hands while, at the very same time, "GAUTENG premier Nomvula Mokonyane has admitted - after months of excuses - that the health department in South Africa's economic hub has lost control of its finances."

I can't help wondering how long it would take to fix the "medical shambles," if ALL MPs, VIPs, ex-presidents, etc., etc., were forced to use public health facilities.

I very much doubt this as his health is worse than when he was put on display before the 2009 election. Read the comment by his wife, Graca Machel, in News 24.

Why Mac Maharaj initially told us that there was nothing to worry about one will never know.

Unfortunately death is the ineluctable destiny of all living creatures and none of us will be here forever

i_stub_born I think your comments are very incisive. I like them

Even if Pinochio were to pronounce his death, only seagulls would believe him.

Try figuring out the difference between a pathological of habitual liar, a propagandist, or a cadre. In exile he held an LLB degree, and now he does not have any law degree.
