Krejcir charged with the murder of Zimbabwean

Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir and three others - including a police officer - briefly appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court yesterday in connection with the murder of Zimbabwean Phumlani Ncube, 35.

Krejcir, Siboniso Miya, Khanyisa Mafunda and crime intelligence police officer Sergeant Nandi Nkosi were not asked to plead.

Ncube's body was found in Heidelberg, southeast of Johannesburg, last year.

The four also appeared in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate senior police officer Colonel Nkosana "Killer" Ximba and private investigator Paul O'Sullivan, both of whom were investigating the activities of the Czech.

Their co-accused in this case are Jacob Nare, Owen Serero and Zodumiso Biyela.

The seven have also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, theft and the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and robbery with aggravating circumstances related to the alleged assassination plot .

Nkosi is accused of supplying information to the alleged hit squad.

The Ncube murder case was postponed to June 13 for further investigation.
