Oscar Pistorius's house has been bought by a family man who plans to retire there.

"It is in a safe area and everyone I dealt with was very professional," Louwtjie Louwrens told The Times yesterday.

The house, in which Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year, is located in Silver Woods Estate near Pretoria. It was sold for R4.5-million.

"It stood empty for more than a year and there is some water damage, so we would first have to repair it," said Louwrens, a mining consultant and at one stage general manager of a gold mine on the East Rand.

Louwrens is married and has a son and daughter. His wife will retire within two years. That, he says, is when the family might move into the murder-accused's former home.
