A personal assistant has failed in her bid to sue her former engineer boss after accusing him of exposing his genitals and offering her money for sex.
The Johannesburg Labour Court dismissed Nicorique Bandat's sexual harassment claim against Philip de Kock.
The court accepted that while De Kock, 54, seemed to "gravitate towards a personal relationship with his assistants", he was not, as Bandat, 33, alleged, a "sex pest".
The court dismissed her claim for R100000 damages, as well as her claims for compensation for constructive dismissal and for medical expenses for a work accident - about R250000 in total.
During the almost two years Bandat worked for De Kock at his Centurion engineering consultancy, the two became close, with Bandat discussing her sex life with De Kock.
Things turned nasty in June last year, when Bandat received a warning letter for misconduct. She resigned and headed to court, claiming constructive dismissal due to an intolerable environment, including that De Kock offered her R1000 for sex.
Bandat also accused De Kock of exposing his genitals to her when he removed his underpants after a swim.
