For multiplatinum selling R&B artist John Legend, the "morning after the night before" in Cape Town was a romantic airport embrace with his wife Chrissy Teigen.

On Saturday night, Legend kicked off the South African part of his All of Me tour with a sold-out concert at the GrandWest casino complex.

But, after sending his fans into a froth with his love-drenched lyrics the night before, he sat waiting in a private taxi at the drop-and-go entrance to the domestic terminal at Cape Town International Airport at midday yesterday.

After a few minutes, supermodel Teigen - swathed in sophisticated black from head to toe, with a luxurious handbag to match - appeared from behind the glass doors flanked by two security guards.

Legend flung the car door open, swept her up, and planted two juicy kisses on her face before they headed off in the private vehicle.

He then played in Cape Town last night, creating a flurry of tweets about his dimples and his romantic repertoire.

He will perform at Johannesburg's Coca-Cola Dome on Wednesday night. On Thursday he will play just one night at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, before heading back to Johannesburg again for another two concerts.
