Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer has called up Lions flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff and Bulls scrumhalf Rudy Paige to join the squad after they complete their date against Italy this weekend.

The 36-man group will shed some of its bulk for the tour finale against Wales in Cardiff next week with seven foreign-based players heading back to their clubs.

Among those are scrumhalf Jano Vermaak and flyhalves Morné Steyn and Johan Goosen (who will start at fullback against Italy). The squad will be 31-strong for the Wales Test.

Wing Seabelo Senatla, who has not played on tour, might be released early next week so he can return to Springbok Sevens duty if he is not required to face Wales.

Both JP Pietersen and Bryan Habana are contracted to overseas clubs and are thus ineligible for the Wales match, which falls outside the Test window.
