Bafana Bafana's man of the moment, Tokelo Rantie, is unlikely to feature in the 2015 African Nations Cup finals after dislocating his shoulder on Saturday.

The loss would be a bitter blow for the Shakes Mashaba-coached side already desperately short of attacking options.

Rantie's four goals in four games for Bafana suggests he was becoming a potent attacking threat.

He was injured playing for Bournemouth against Ipswich Town in the Championship on Saturday. Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe admits Rantie will be missing "for a period of time".

"The boy has worked so hard to get himself in good form. I think he is going to be out for a period of time, which is a huge blow," Howe told Bournemouth's website.

"I know it's a shoulder injury. It looks like he might have dislocated his shoulder, but we will wait and see what the diagnosis is."

With the Africa Cup of Nations just under two months away, Rantie must now be considered a major doubt.

Elsewhere in England, Steven Pienaar did not feature for Everton through injury and Kagisho Dikgacoi was missing for Cardiff City, but Kgosi Ntlhe did play for Peterborough United in their 2-1 home loss to Swindon Town.

Thulani Serero, who missed Bafana's 2-2 draw in Nigeria on Wednesday, was straight back into the Ajax Amsterdam lineup for their 4-1 win over Heerenveen.
