The article "Eskom: Ashes to ashes" (yesterday) refers.

The current disaster is not the result of just a few months of neglect and corruption.

Years ago the ANC was informed regarding projected future electricity demands, but it did nothing, apart from putting its unqualified cronies in key positions. The evidence of incompetence, neglect and abuse of power and funds is overwhelming, but Eskom CEO Tshediso Matona - who pays himself an annual salary bigger than most of us will see in an entire lifetime - will continue to deny that poor maintenance is a contributing factor in Eskom's woes.

Consumers (of what?) will be charged more each year for something that no longer exists. Evil in its extreme.

Such a mess and waste of taxpayers' money.

On what basis were Brian Dames and his incompetent staff paid such huge bonuses?

Dames left just in time.

Call him back to account for the mess he has left behind.
