An Auschwitz survivor subjected to medical experiments with her twin sister at the hands of the infamous Josef Mengele gave graphic evidence of her ordeal at the trial in Germany on Wednesday of a former SS guard at the camp. Eva Kor, now 81, is among dozens of survivors who have joined the prosecution as co-plaintiffs in the case against Oskar Gröning, 93, who has been charged with 300000 counts of accessory to murder.Kor told the court in Lüneburg that she and her sister, Miriam, survived only because Mengele, dubbed the Angel of Death, was interested in twins. The rest of her family was sent to the gas chambers. She said Mengele and four other doctors came to see her one day after she had undergone a series of injections."Mengele looked at my fever chart and laughed sarcastically and said: 'Too bad. She is so young and she has only two weeks to live'.''If I died they would have killed Miriam with an injection to the heart. Mengele would then have carried out a comparative autopsy."Kor and Miriam survived. But Miriam, who died in 1993, suffered from kidney problems and cancer possibly linked to the experiments. ..
