Mngqibisa rejects Bucs for stability at AmaTuks

University of Pretoria recent recruit Vukile Mngqibisa has revealed Orlando Pirates were serious about signing him, but he chose to join AmaTuks instead. The former Polokwane City central defender said he was not ready to join a big club and was sure he'd get more game time at AmaTuks."The likes of Free State Stars, Pirates and Celtic were interested in me. Maybe four or five teams. But when you sign a contract you have to look at who is there, how many players they have and who is playing in your position."Pirates did call me. They also called my agent, but I thought this was not the right time to join them. Pirates are too big for me. I need to play a few more seasons in the PSL before I join a team like Pirates."I want to achieve a lot here at Tuks. I want to see the team finish in the top eight," said the 27-year-old, who was spotted by Duncan Lechesa four years ago.The Pretoria club will go into the season with a new back line after signing Mngqibisa, Kabelo Lichaba and Sibusiso Mthethwa as replacements for Grant Kekana and Siyabonga Shoyisa, who have both left the club...
