Brüssow a fetching prospect

Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer has shied away from using Heinrich Brüssow because, at 1.8m, he brought no lineout ability, which has long been a central part of Meyer's game plan. But last week's evidence that two fetchers - Marcell Coetzee and Francois Louw - could have a great impact on the game has forced a rethink from the coach.The Boks might have to sacrifice their lineout and ball-carrying superiority to improve the areas in which they are found wanting, such as the breakdown.It's this area of the game where Brüssow's finesse as a fetcher could be game-changing, even career-defining. If Brüssow takes his chances tomorrow and SA prevails, Meyer will be forced to ponder a dual openside role in England later this year...
