ANC axes 4 mayors as local polls draw closer

In a bid to improve service delivery before the local government elections, the party has expelled four of its mayors in Mpumalanga. ANC provincial secretary Lucky Ndinisa conceded that though the party had made substantial progress in delivering services, its state of governance and political leadership in some municipalities was poor.Emalahleni mayor Salome Sithole has been replaced by Lindiwe Mabona Ntshalintshali, Lekwa mayor Matshidiso Morajane has made way for Linda Dlamini, while Rhoda Mathabe has taken over as mayor of Dr JS Moroka from Grace Mthimunye. Selina Mashego has replaced Bafana Ncongwane at Thaba Chweu.Ndinisa said the municipalities' mayoral committees would also be restructured...
