Nigella steers clear of 'clean'

Nigella Lawson has dismissed the current trend for "clean eating" as a fad, saying that following a balanced diet should not involve "being smug". "Clean eating" is a diet that cuts out processed foods and has recently become a phenomenon.Television cookery star Lawson is promoting a new BBC2 series and cookery book titled Simply Nigella, which will feature lighter meals alongside the rich recipes for which she is known.Asked how she felt about terms such as "clean eating" and "healthy food", Lawson told a magazine: "I wouldn't want a life where I lived on chia seed pudding, just as I wouldn't want a life where I lived on eggs Benedict or steak and chips."Life is about balance, it's not about being smug."You don't eat things because you think they're good for you."..
