Forty hurt in church stampede

A stampede at a church meeting in Pretoria left 40 people injured yesterday. Paramedics were called to the Tshwane Events Centre after hundreds of people tried to force their way into it at 6am.ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said 13 people were taken to hospital."Two were critically injured. One suffered injuries to his knees and a woman sustained head injuries," said Vermaak."The entrance gate was forced open and people trampled those who had fallen to the ground."..
