Main Pavilion: Addictive beats from the bedsit

The next time you get grumpy with your child for playing on the computer bear Joshua Steele in mind. "Growing up in a small town with nothing to do except smoke weed and write songs I thought I'd end up working in the local coffee shop," said Steele, whose alter ego is internationally renowned producer and DJ Flux Pavilion, who'll be headlining the Sounds Wild Festival next weekend."It grew from having nothing to do."What started out as fiddling around grew into production for his teenage band and then blossomed into a successful career that's seen his music sampled on Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne."I remember when I was younger I used to see postcards of San Francisco and Australia and think that was the closest I'd get to them," he said.He admits he didn't get into music for money and has a distaste for trends and "scenes"."When something is cool or trendy you'll get a lot of people who just go with it just to be part of that scene, but when something is uncool, that's when you get the people who genuinely like that music."I try to make music that's immersive. So the stage production is geared towards that," he said.Flux Pavilion tends to steer clear of the party life, preferring to "get really drunk at home with my mates and play Risk".Fans will get the opportunity to test their spines during a night that ends in the best type of blood, sweat and tears.Flux Pavilion will be performing next weekend at the Sounds Wild Festival.
