Tumelo Pedi is living proof that when one door closes, another one opens. The 23-year-old's career was ended after he suffered bleeding to the brain following a 10th-round knockout by Gauteng featherweight champion Rofhiwa "War Child" Maemu last May.His undying love for the sport saw him apply for a promoter's licence, which Boxing SA granted in February.Pedi, based in Linden, Johannesburg, becomes the youngest promoter in the country, and will hit the ground running. His newly established Two Shots Promotions will stage a seven-bout maiden tournament at Walter Sisulu Hall in Randburg on April 10.Ironically, Maemu will headline the bill in a non-title fight against Khatiso Hlahane over eight rounds. Pedi has the full support of his former trainer Allan Toweel Junior."I called Allan in December and told him about plans of becoming a promoter and he supported me. I am now taking a new journey in the sport I love dearly."Pedi quit boxing after a CAT scan detected a blood clot in his brain after Maemu knocked him out...
