Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema says the ANC will "die a natural death" and sees his party amassing 18% of the vote in the upcoming local government elections. In a wide-ranging interview on Al Jazeera last night, Malema said he had "no ambition" of becoming South Africa's president."I'm not into this thing for myself. That's not my ambition. My ambition is to put a responsible party in power," he said.Speaking about his party's prospects at the polls, Malema said the EFF would be willing to partner with any opposition."We can work with the DA, we can work with the UDM. We can work with anyone who represents clean governance. Anyone who wants to restore the dignity of black people."But he said any political partners would have to prove themselves."The DA would have to outline how it will empower the black nation . We are not going to partner with anyone who wants to bring white dominance through the back door," he said.Malema also told the interviewer that the ANC was not the enemy, despite the EFF having clashed with the ruling party several times in parliament."ANC is not the enemy. As we are in the process of crushing the white monopoly capital, there will be these irritations along the way," he said.He predicted the ruling party's eventual demise, saying it would go the way of other liberation movements on the continent."It's going to die a natural death. They want to create an impression that we owe them for the rest of our lives," he said...
