Exactly eight weeks to the day since breaking his collarbone, Richard Murray won his first senior world title.Murray is one the top triathletes in the world and this race was part of his comeback for the Rio Olympic Games in August. It was his first race since the crash at the WTS Gold Coast, Australia, in April. He underwent surgery, got a plate and screws to fix the breaks in his shoulder and has been working really hard at getting back to full fitness.Seeing that he has been cycling and running for a while without any problems, he took part in his first duathlon since 2010. Murray is a former junior duathlon world champion."My legs felt a bit stiff after the first run and I wasn't sure what to expect from the cycle, never mind the last 5km run."But the body responded really well on the bike. We were a group of some eight guys who really worked well together to get a gap to the rest of the field. Coming off the bike I belted that first kilometre to see what happened. I got a solid lead and kept going," he said after the race."This is my first senior world title. I could not be happier, not only with the title, but with the way my body responded. I am really stoked. Now it is onwards and upwards from here, but first thing tomorrow I will be in the swimming pool working on the strokes."Murray will spend the rest of the time before Rio in Europe getting ready for his second Olympic Games.Another South African, Andrea Steyn, finished second in the women's race...
