Locnville twins are jumping for joy

29 June 2016 - 08:44 By Leonie Wagner

Some artists raise a glass and toast the release of their album, but the electric-pop duo Locnville have instead opted to face their fear. The twins Brian and Andrew Chaplin, who make up the duo, will go bungee jumping today to celebrate the release of their latest album - Taste of the Weekend. The album was partly produced in Los Angeles, where they spent time meeting songwriters and producers.Having returned from the US in November, Brian said they were already working on new music to capitalise on their "fantastic" time networking and learning in Los Angeles.Andrew added: "It's very important to have an international footprint. Nothing is local any more; everything is international so if you aren't penetrating those markets it means you [are failing] as an artist."The 26-year-old brothers plan to release their album in the US this year. Along with dreams of international status they also have plans to produce music for other artists.Their new album boasts their signature sound while showcasing their evolution as artists, a balance which Brian said was important in giving people what they wanted while making sure that the "sound evolves".The pair will return to the US next month and are scheduled to tour South Africa later this year.Brian said their "big priority is getting our music out to new ears"...
