Somizi tipped for MetroFM drivetime

Move over Bonang Matheba and Minnie Dlamini, there is a new "IT girl" in the industry, Somizi Mhlongo. Oozing flamboyance wherever he is seen, like this weekend when he rocked six- inch Christian Louboutin heels and a Zarth designer white ensemble at the Vodacom Durban July, the 43-year-old has bagged a gig as a radio personality on MetroFM.Sources at the SABC revealed that Mhlongo has been in talks with the SABC over signing a contract for some time and some even said he was to join the afternoon drive slot with Thabo 'Tbo Touch' Molefe. This was before Molefe announced that he was leaving the station last week.Returning from his trip to Durban, Mhlongo said he wasn't ready to discuss anything as he "hadn't signed anything."I can't talk about something that I haven't got yet. Let me sign and all will be revealed in due time."Later Mhlongo slipped and said: "When I do radio it will be on Monday to Fridays, which won't clash with my time on Idolson Sundays."Mhlongo launched an exercise DVD last month, hosted the 22nd S A Music Awards and is expected to release his biography and cook book in October."Things are looking up for me. I am grateful and blessed."Ngiyakwazi ukuhlupheka. I know what it's like to be down and out. I went from having money to having nothing. This is God giving me a second chance and I am accepting it full on," said Mhlongo...
