EFFing good pizza, should you fANCy it

Just because elections are serious doesn't mean you can't have a little fun.

This is the view of Geoff Tennant, owner of Pizzology Craft Café, in Pietermaritzburg, who has created a stir in the KwaZulu-Natal capital with his political-party-themed advertising."EFFing good pizza!" one of his posters proclaims."DAmn good coffee!" says another. The third of his poster series asks a poignant question: "Could you COPE without Pizzology?"The idea came to him a few weeks ago."We had a logo on one of our T-shirts, a symbol of the revolutionary fist holding a pizza cutter. Then I noticed the EFF posters with the fist and I thought it would be funny to do a mock-up of one of those [posters] holding a pizza cutter. We then extended it to other parties," said Tennant yesterday.About 15 sets of the three posters - Tennant said they always go up together in batches of three - have been put up in and around Pietermaritzburg since Thursday, and they have been a hit."It has been quite a busy weekend," said Tennant. The posters have also attracted attention online. Since pictures of them were put on Pizzology's Facebook page on Thursday, the post has been shared more than 311 times, received 1500 likes and been viewed about 60000 times."It's going a little bit viral," said Tennant.KZN chief electoral officer Mawethu Mosery said yesterday that there was nothing wrong with the posters. The posters have not been reported to him; neither has a party complained about them."These are not election posters but marketing posters, therefore they are not governed by electoral laws. [The displaying of] posters is a municipal responsibility."..
