ANC sends SOS to business

ANC treasurer-general Zweli Mkhize has begged the business community not to abandon the ruling party, despite its recent dismal electoral performance and problems in government. Speaking in Sandton, Johannesburg, last night, Mkhize said the private sector was not insulated from problems faced by the ANC and a good working relationship was critical to steer the country forward."Sometimes you need a crisis to discover you need each other."He said the ruling party and private sector needed one another."We need to come together and compare notes and share ideas. We might know we are all living in one country but we need to be constantly reminded we are all in this together," he said.Some of the business leaders present condemned the ANC for not taking action against Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane, who said the cabinet had resolved to set up an inquiry into banks that had closed the accounts of the Gupta family...
