Cassper, AKA get nods for MTV gong
Aside from their ponytails and immaculately tailored suits, South African hip-hop artists Cassper Nyovest and AKA also lead the pack in the first round of nominations in the MTV Africa Music Awards. Last night 50 nominees for the 2016 awards were revealed in nine categories at Johannesburg's Constitution Hill.Nigerian Wizkid scored three nominations: for best male, best collaboration and personality of the year.Nyovest and AKA got two nods each.Youngster Emtee cracked a nomination in the best hip-hop category, together with Riky Rick.They are up against Nigeria's Olamide and Ycee, and Ivory Coast's Kiff No Beat.Vying for the personality of the year award are South Africa's Pearl Thusi and Olympic gold medallist Caster Semenya.The awards bash, which will be hosted by Trevor Noah, are on October 22 at The Dome, Randburg...
