The woman at the receiving end of a racist incident at a Cape Town fast-food restaurant did not report it to the police because she did not want to "hinder" the man's future.

Rachel Wood, 21, was reportedly attacked by a man standing with a group who had been holding up the queue at a drive-through fast-food restaurant. When she asked about the delay she was told: "Give our land back."

"I didn't open a case with police because I didn't wanted to hinder his future," she said.

Wood posted a video of the April28 incident on Facebook.

  • WATCH: Hate, slurs... and an apology at the fast food drive-throughThe 21-year-old woman at the receiving end of an alleged racial slur - at a Cape Town fast food restaurant - never approached police because she didn’t want to "hinder" the man's future.

She and a friend had been in the queue for 10 to 15 minutes before she went to see what was causing the delay.

After an argument, Wood said the group followed her back to her car and threatened to kill her and her friend.

They were told: "The blacks are coming for the whites" and were called "white bitches".

Wood said after uploading the video she expected a backlash, but got messages of support.

"A lot of black people said this doesn't represent how all black people feel."
