Kim Kardashian throws birthday dinner for Kris

Kim Kardashian "really hit it off" with her boyfriend’s parents when she threw him a birthday dinner.

The 30-year-old socialite delighted basketball star Kris Humphries when she threw an intimate dinner at New York eatery STK to mark him turning 26, with the couple joined at the restaurant by a small group of friends and family.

A source told People magazine: "This was more of a get to know the parents affair. Kim and his parents really seemed to hit it off."

Kim - who ate pear salad, tuna tartar, and Dover sole and drank white Russian cocktails - also picked up the entire $900 bill for the party.

Kim has been dating the New Jersey Nets basketball star since last December when she was filming her new reality show 'Kourtney and Kim Take New York' but she recently told fans they won t get to see her new romance on screen.

Kim explained: "I met him towards the end of filming the show. I'm having a lot of fun with him."

While viewers won't get the chance to see Kim's new relationship developing onscreen, the 30-year-old beauty - who has also dated football player Reggie Bush and been linked to soccer player Christiano Ronaldo and rapper Kanye West - has admitted she knows it is "hard" when being followed by TV cameras but doesn't think her love life will be affected.

She said: "I never think love is hard. I think if it's meant to be, it's meant to be."
