SHOOTING THE BREEZE: Sizwe Dhlomo of 'MTV Base' interviews Hugh Masekela

Trumpeter Hugh Masekela, affectionately known as Bra Hugh, chats about his music career tonight.

The 72-year-old says he picked up his first trumpet at 14. He was part of the Sophiatown era in South Africa, before going into exile in the US in 1961.

Tonight, Masekela talks about politics and his 2003 autobiography, Still Grazing: The Musical Journey of Hugh Masekela.

He talks of his great loves, including ex-wife singer Miriam Makeba. Masekela also tells of his drug and alcohol addictions, and, of course, about being a musician.

He is interviewed by MTV Base's Sizwe Dhlomo and Zimbabwean rapper Zubz, South African blogger Milisuthando Bongela, Nigerian musician Adey Omotade, South African stand-up comedian Mojak Lehoko and Congolese stylist Patricia Muauka Muembo.
