From cleaning mortuaries to Playboy shoot

LINDSAY Lohan's decision to pose nude for Playboy for a reported $1-million has put her on a long and illustrious list of celebrities to have appeared on the magazine's centrefold.

Lohan, who has been waging a well-publicised war against her drug and alcohol abuse, hasn't spoken about her decision to strip off for the magazine shoot.

But her mother confirmed her daughter had accepted the offer and that the session had gone well.

Lohan, 25, had to fit the picture shoot in with her court-ordered community service, cleaning off post-mortem slabs in a Los Angeles mortuary.

Gossip site TMZ said LiLo had agreed to pose nude after months of negotiation. The Playboy shoot is not the first time the controversial star has posed naked. In 2008 she stripped off to recreate some of Marilyn Monroe's most famous shots, and last year she did topless scenes and threesomes in themovieMachete. At the time, she said she was comfortable with nudity.

Many celebrities have posed in various states of undress for the magazine. Topping the list of famous bodies is Monroe, who was the magazine's first centrefold, in December 1953.

A favourite cover girl has been Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson. She first posed for the magazine 21 years ago - in 1990 - and has undressed for Playboy a record 12 times. The last time was in 2007, the same year in which reality star Kim Kardashian showed off her curves in the magazine.

Another favourite was the late blonde bombshell Anna Nicole Smith, who graced many covers and became Playmate of the Year in 1993.

Famous film stars who made the centrefold include Ursula Andress, Kim Basinger, Drew Barrymore and Daryl Hannah.

Others to have shown more than their famous faces are La Toya Jackson, singer Belinda Carlisle and Olympic gold medal skater Katarina Witt. Among the TV stars who have graced the cover are Linda Evans and Joan Collins of Dynasty, Charlie's Angels beauty Farrah Fawcett and Shannen Doherty of Beverly Hills 90210.
