Britney Spears is ready to sign a deal worth more than $100 million a year to perform nightly in Las Vegas

The former The X Factor judge - who announced her split from fiance Jason Trawick in recent days - is said to be seriously considering a residency spot and has almost locked down an enormous deal that would see her earn more than $100 million a year.

A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the 31-year-old star is currently negotiating with one of the Caesar group hotels to put on a regular Celine Dion-type show several nights a week.

The source said: "The deal is a go. There are several stipulations that could throw a monkey wrench in the deal, but it's basically done."

The insider revealed that one of the outstanding issues that has yet to be agreed on is whether Britney will be required to just perform on stage at a big theatre several times a week or whether she will also have to make public appearances at private parties and events taking place in the group's hotels, nightclubs and pool bars.

But a financial agreement has already been ironed out and sources have revealed that the mother-of-two will ink an "astronomical" deal that will see her earn more than current Las Vegas resident Celine Dion's annual salary of $100 million.

Earlier this week the Scream & Shout singer confirmed her X Factor departure in order to focus on her music career.

She also returned her $90 000 3.5-carat ring to Jason following the end of their year-long engagement.
