Community and religious leaders are outraged over plans to launch a 'traditional Tshivenda porn' movie.
According to zoutnet.co.za, this follows the publishing of an advertisement, inviting adults to buy tickets for a “DVD and live shooting”.
''We could not withstand the pressure from our fans, who wanted something new and exciting. We then decided on something very traditional, shot in a traditional Venda setting in the mountains at Ha-Manyuwa in the Nzhelele area, with members of the cast dressed in traditional Venda attire and doing what folks in those days did when courting…,'' said local porn king Zwoluga Madega.
Zoutnet quotes Apostle (Dr) Shandukani Tshitimbi of the Hope of Faith Worship Christian Centre at Hamutsha-Khwekhwe as saying, sex for money was something unheard of in conservative African communities. "Sex is very sacred and is meant for married couples. It cannot be performed in public, and it is very unfortunate to find that it is being displayed in public these days.”
The launch of the 'traditional Tshivenda porn movie', Bush Pie 3, is now in jeopardy. It is not clear whether the event will continue on Youth Day, 16 June.
The Sowetan newspaper reports the Thulamela municipality has withdrawn permission to use Indoor Sport Centre, where the 'porn festival' would have been hosted, due to a falsified application to book the venue.
