South Africa's Late Night News with Loyiso Gola (LNN) received a nomination for best comedy in the 42nd International Emmy Awards, the show's production company Diprente said on Tuesday.
"We're beyond excited to have been nominated -- it's a huge thumbs up for our industry, showing that South African talent is on par with what's on offer in the rest of the world," said co-founder of Diprente and director of LNN, Kagiso Lediga.
The LNN team attended the awards ceremony in New York on Monday.
The comedy show, co-created by Gola, Lediga, and Tamsin Andersson, has been running for four years and was also nominated for an Emmy last year.
"[LNN's] enduring popularity is testimony to its unerring ability to push satire to its limits," Diprente said.
