The 23-year old Port Elizabeth resident is set to be crowned Miss SA today. She takes over from Rolene Strauss who took up her Miss World duties in London this week.

When Ziphozakhe Zokufa, then 22-years old, appeared on the stage at Sun City during the Miss SA pageant ceremony - there was a collective intake of breath.

It was not difficult to see why the tall, chocolate skinned musician had become the crown favourite. She was literally glowing and her beauty was simply captivating. On social media, commentators were ultra sure she would take the crown. Ziphozakhe was a shoo in for the title of the most beautiful woman in the country and it seems she was confident of it too.

On Miss SA's official website, Ziphozakhe was described as a model, studying at AFDA who had represented her province and country abroad as a professional singer.

She also plays several musical instruments ranging from the piano, clarinet to the guitar.

Ziphozakhe will now realise her dream of wearing The Miss SA crown after Rolene Strauss won Miss World over the weekend. She effectively left her crown vacant and as first princess, Ziphozakhe stepped in to take ownership of the title. She is also expected to compete in The Miss Universe pageant.

Born to parents who are teachers, Ziphozakhe said:  “Together they worked and studied hard, proving that your circumstances do not define who you are. Their success has always inspired me to achieve and never to limit myself.”

Her personal message to young women is: "There are so many opportunities for young girls and women out there and I would encourage each and every one to make use of them. Do what you can with what you have instead of waiting for “the right time”.
