Some people who arrive in Johannesburg with a dream eventually end up leaving with nothing but nightmares. But Tholwana Mohale could be the exception to the rule. The 15-year-old drama student has finally released her debut single Hollywood Guy after winning SA's Got Talent in November. Her introduction into the music industry, the song is an instant pop hit. Her powerful voice dominates the track, indicating that she is a significantly better vocalist than the song reveals.Adding to the authenticity of the song is that Mohale wrote the lyrics. But, she joked that her initial muse was no longer the object of her affection."I had a crush on this guy at my old school so I wrote the song; but now it's whatever, I don't like him any more."Maybe the song is about another guy I have a crush on."Having left her family at home in the Northern Cape, Mohale relocated to Johannesburg to record her album and to finish school. She said she had expected the National School of Arts to be like the popular film High School Musical, with spontaneous flash mobs and everyone singing in harmony. She said: "The first time I heard my song on the radio, I cried. I realised what I've always dreamed about is coming true."Her album will be released next year and Mohale hopes to be the creative brains behind most of the songs on the album...
