Actress Phumeza Mdabe says that all is well with her son, after a new cancer scare on Wednesday proved to be a false alarm.

Nearly three months after Phumeza revealed that her son had been battling cancer and that the condition had gone into remission, the actress revealed on Wednesday that the family had been given another cancer scare.

Posting a picture of their son undergoing a scan at a hospital in Centurion, Phumeza revealed that "after some scary signs" that the disease had returned, the family took the little boy for an MRI scan. Luckily, the results came back stating that it was all clear and the cancer had not returned.

"The thing about being in remission after cancer is that as parents, we (are) always on edge. After some scary signs that this horrible disease could be back, we can safely say it isn't! MRI clear. Thank you God. Now we wait for him to wake up from all the drugs," Phumeza wrote.

Phumeza revealed in February that her family had been fighting a silent cancer battle, after discovering that her two-year-old son was diagnosed with the disease. The actress revealed that she had taken a break from acting to look after the child, until doctors confirmed that the cancer was in remission in October 2015.
