After five years of struggling to make it in the entertainment industry, 10 young musical talents made their way from Krugersdorp to Pretoria earlier this year in the hope of a fresh start, defying their parents in the process.

‘It was time to leave years of trying to make people understand the dream we have,’ said Tshepo Mokgosi, band leader of African Rhythm Productions.

After busking on the streets of Pretoria North for a few weeks, the fusion group got a call from a new friend who organised a gig with the City of Tshwane for them.

They got to meet the executive mayor, Kgosientso Ramokgopa, and also performed at the Krugersdorp City Hall.

The sky is now the limit for the group and their ultimate goal is to be signed to a record label.
