It was billed as one of the biggest album launches in the world but when DJ Tokzen took to the stage at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday his concert seemed to be one big flop. Still, he's resolved to shake himself off and put the incident behind him.

The House DJ and sound engineer had hoped to relaunch his music career with the release of his latest album, Mmthi’s Essential Selections 7, at the mega-venue but only a handful of fans showed up at the stadium to show their support.

The poor turnout lead to artists such as Emtee, Bucie and DJ Ganyani all cancelling their scheduled performances at the event, which perhaps left the fans who did attend, feeling as miserable as the cold and rainy weather.

The DJ not being able to attract a crown quickly became a trending topic on social with users mocking him over the 'flop'.

However, DJ Tokzen came out strongly to defend himself explaining that it was never his intention to #FillUpFNB. The DJ also blamed the wet and cold weather for the poor turnout.

"I wanted to showcase my music and the sound system that I promote. Filling up the stadium was not the aim. I think the weather played a huge part in keeping the people away," he told Daily Sun.

Although Tokzen wouldn't reveal how much he had lost from the concert, the DJ took to Facebook shortly after the show to thank his fans and let them know he would not let this latest set-back break him.

"Dark or blue you guys still showed your love and support (even though) the weather was bad. Thank you to everyone that came and danced in the cold rain with us this is only the beginning fam. Nothing can stop the journey. The launch didn't meet our expectations lets close that chapter and move on. Mmthi's Essential Selections 7 is now out in stores let's support the journey," he wrote.
