Lerato Kganyago pours her heart out over the loss of her unborn baby

In what can be dubbed as a heart-wrenching, tell-all interview, TV and radio personality Lerato Kganyago has for the first time given fans a glimpse into the pain she endured after suffering a miscarriage in October last year.

Speaking to True Love magazine for the first time since losing her unborn baby Lerato says she is still “healing.”

The TV star says that falling pregnant was nothing short of a dream come true for her as she suffers from fibroids, which doctors told her would make it difficult to fall pregnant.

Talking about her loss has been something that Lerato was reluctant about until now, because she did not want to be judged.

Since she confirmed the news of her miscarriage Lerato says that she has been called all sorts of insulting names, including moepa (a Sesotho word for a barren woman).

Lerato was rushed to hospital after experiencing discomfort and stomach cramps when she was five months pregnant.

“I was admitted, and after the doctor did a scan, she told me I had miscarried. I sat on the hospital bed numb. I called my mom and my ex, who both cried,” she told the mag.

After she was discharged from hospital Lerato says she blamed herself for what had happened, and was “wrecked with guilt.”

She questioned herself over and over again, about why this would happen to her, and felt guilty over pushing herself so hard to be financially ready for her baby.

The pain that Lerato and her now ex-boyfriend felt after the miscarriage caused strain between them, which resulted in them splitting.“I’m still healing. I’m not ready to have another child yet. My ex wanted us to try again, but I didn’t want to as I'm still scared I’ll miscarry again,” she said.

Lerato also revealed that she has been going for counselling which is helping her find peace and closure with a lot of things that she’s dealing with in her life.
