A shooting at a T.I concert in New York on Wednesday evening has left one person dead and several others injured.

According to various international reports, witnesses at the event fled for their lives after a series of gun shots rang out at the concert shortly before T.I. took to the stage at the prestigious Irving Plaza venue in New York.

Police later confirmed that one person was left dead and at least three injured in the incident. Reports claim that rapper Troy Ave was among the injured, having sustained injuries after being grazed by a bullet in the leg.

It is believed that the shooting may have occurred in the venue's backstage area.

A video of the incident has since surfaced online, showing fans holding their heads while rushing out of the venue. The video also shows police sealing off the area of the club and attending to the scene.

This is not the first time that violence has erupted at a T.I concert. In 2006 a shooting at one of his parties in Cincinnati left T.I's good friend and personal assistant Philant Johnson dead and three others injured.
