Just weeks after Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest and AKA were announced as nominees for the 2016 BET Awards, it has been announced that local rapper Emtee has also scored a nomination.

Emtee has been nominated in the Prestigious Viewers Choice category at the awards, meaning that the Roll Up singer will have to rely almost solely on fan votes to win him the prize.

The list of nominees in the category were announced on Tuesday and see Emtee go up against the likes of Falz (Nigeria), MHD (France), Tkay Maidza (Zimbabwe/Australia), WSTRN (UK) and Section Boyz (UK).

Emtee, who just this last weekend walked away with a SA Music Award for Record of the Year, was ecstatic with the news and took to social media to encourage his fans to vote for him using the hashtag #IPickEmtee.

  • Cassper to go up against AKA and Black Coffee at the 2016 BET AwardsLocal artists Caspper Nyovest, AKA and Black Coffee have all been nominated for an American BET award next month.
