SA Rugby has recently announced the addition of six new anthem singers for the Castle Lager Incoming Series against Ireland - as part of their #LoveRugby initiative to grow the game in South Africa.

Taken from the massively popular The Voice South Africa, the winner and three of the finalists - Richard Stirton, Lana Crowster, Vernon Barnard and Gavin Edwards -  will be joined by Cape Town singer Nathan Hendricks and Jamali's Mariechan as they perform the national anthems of SA and Ireland over the next three weeks at the Springbok Tests.

"We have had many established artists and stars singing our anthems in the past and we are very proud of that," said SA Rugby's CEO Jurie Roux in a press statement.

"But we also want to bring in new faces, fans and talents into rugby with the #LoveRugby story and at the same time The Voice SA was doing something similar in the music industry. It made sense to combine the two."
