Rolene, who took the coveted Miss World title in 2014 and after her reign of inspiring women across the world, went back to school this year to pursue her studies in medicine.
And even though going back to school is something that Rolene is committed to, it has been an adjustment.
Taking to social media after an exam the beauty queen reflected on some of the challenges she's faced.
"Just finished an Orthopedic practical exam and contemplating... Life is not always going to be filled with sunshine. Getting back to my medical studies was an adjustment and still is every single day," Rolene says.
Rolene's advice to beating these tough days is to remember to take things one step at a time.
"Some days are tougher than others and I have to remind myself to live one day at a time and take one step at a time. Your one lane, your own race, your own pace."
