AKA to perform at National Arts Festival

A big change on the National Arts Festival program this year is the injection of more South African contemporary music.

This year’s Festival Artistic Committee have shaken things up to bring you a fresh new line-up.

South Africa’s music industry is growing stronger, carving its own identity and infusing itself with an international flavour in order to establish itself on the global stage. The main program promises a variety of shows for all types of music lovers.

The biggest name of all is AKA, who will be lighting up the stage for one night only.

Then there is Prime Circle. When it comes to South African rock, they lead the pack. With various hit singles under their belt such as Consider Me, She Always GetsWhat She Wants, and Breathing, they’ve also picked up 16 South African Music Awards (SAMA) nominations and a SAMA win for the best rock album.

On the soul side, The Muffinz are an act that will leave you feeling a range of emotions. The band has also been nominated for a SAMA, and are embarking on a USA tour soon. Catch them before they hit the big time.
