SABC 1's Mutual Friends renewed for a second season

Good news Mutual Friends fans, the show has been renewed for a second season and is set to return to screens next month.

The popular drama series, based on the life and adventures of a young varsity student named Badanile, was a hit in its first season. But after the season finale early last year, fans no doubt wondered if it would ever return.

Now, over a year since we last saw the series on our screens, one of the show's main cast members Phila Madlingozi (who plays Thabiso on the drama) has confirmed that a second season of the show will return on August 18.

Posting a picture of the show's logo on Instagram, Phila wrote: "It's too soon I know but who cares.? Yo!! Mutual Friends season 2 drops 18th August on SABC 1."

Phila confirmed that actors Dineo Lusenga (Busi) Neo Ntlatleng (Sizo), Jafta Mamabolo (Jabu), and Zimkitha Nyoka (Badanile) will return to their roles, while Zimbabwean actress Tendaiishe Chitima will be joining the show in a new role.
