TMG Entertainment recently caught up with the celebrity heir about his new show, which offers fans a fresh perspective on his life.

"I've always wanted to do my own thing, so having a show which documents my life in New York - doing the most - seemed like a natural thing to do," he said.

The 24-year-old, who is the son of former baskbetball star, Magic Johnson, was thrust into the spotlight through the hit show Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills, which focuses on the lives of a group of twenty-something millionaires and billionaires (by inheritance) showcasing their lives.

"EJNYC obviously has a different feel to Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, because it focuses more on me and my sister as well as our entourage, and tells a coming-of-age story.

"We're young, having fun, establishing professional careers and everybody is just doing their own thing. And what I like most about the show is that everyone is just so diverse," he explained.

Known for being incredibly outspoken, it came as a bit of a surprise when EJ revealed that he often chooses his words carefully when the cameras are rolling.

"I am always careful about what I say, obviously. But I don't cut anything out, because I believe I always have to be me 100 percent of the time," he said, before adding that he's hardly ever afraid of revealing every aspect of himself on the show.

"For the most time, I don't hide anything about myself."

EJ dropped a shocking 81kg in the past year and has debuted a new figure that has given him the confidence to push his fashion risks even further and these style choices have not gone unnoticed by those ruling the fashion world. Skyrocketing to TV and social media fame, EJ’s life is now full of romantic and professional prospects, which has granted him a not-so-typical life.

"I don't think I have a typical day in my life. Each day varies, and I like the fact that I have these east coast and west coast vibes. When I'm in LA, I often visit my friends, go out, work out, meet with my team to discuss strategies, etc. And then there's filming and stuff," he added.

Commenting on how his life has changed after joining the world of reality television, EJ admitted that he gets noticed a lot more now. He revealed that while it gets hard sometimes to have to go out in public when you're not in the mood for people, he wouldn't trade the support he gets from fans for anything.
