Rapper Rouge recovering after 'violent beating' during hijacking

Her face and body have been left black and blue after being violently assaulted during a hijacking that took place on Friday morning, Rouge's management has confirmed.

According to a statement issued by Rouge's team she was attacked while travelling home from a gig during the early hours of Friday morning.

The rapper's management company The David Gresham Entertainment Group confirmed the incident.

"Rouge was on the way home from a gig at Cantare, a venue at Montecasino this morning. The attack happened at around 1am in Kyalami, Johannesburg," read the statement.

The Mbongo Zaka hitmaker was badly beaten up by two men and sustained severe bruising to her face. Her car was stolen but has since been recovered by police.

Speaking to TMG Entertainment David Gresham's Andrew Mitchley said that Rouge is currently recovering at home and is shaken up by the incident.

"Her car was rammed into by another vehicle from behind and when she jumped out to inspect her car, two men attacked her," he said.

Rouge has since cancelled all TV and live performances due to the incident.
