The strangest thing happens in the Coke Studio this week: Jimmy Nevis gets down on his knees!

Relax, fam! You’re favourite singer isn't proposing to the love of his life or anything. He is simply trying to find a new way of expressing himself.

Fans of Coke Studio can look forward to seeing Jimmy perform alongside Cape Town outfit Opposite the Other this week, but what you might not see on the episode is Jimmy literally getting down for creativity.

  •

"We were having a conversation about how singers record, you know how you hear about Christina Aguilera singing on her back and Mariah Carey records on her stomach. All these theories. And we were in this world-class studio and I was like 'you know what? I want to sing on my knees. So, there I was on my knees, singing into the camera. It came out very dramatic and I was a little embarrassed," laughs Jimmy, in a chat with TMG Entertainment this week.

But how did his crazy idea work out? How did sound?

"I gave it my all and it kind of worked," Jimmy admits. "I might just have stumbled on a game-changer."

And while Jimmy might not take his new trick out of the studio and onto the stage, he says that his song with Opposite The Other is one that will definitely stay on his set lists in the future.

"The song has been out for a bit, has received radio airplay and is already charting. I'm so blessed," he says.

Jimmy revealed that the idea for the song came from something most people use every day: the keyboard.

"The song is called Control, Alt, Delete and anyone who has pressed those buttons on a keyboard will know that you do that to end a program or to erase something from your system. In the same way, the song is about the end of a relationship and how you get it out of your system. It's one of those catchy tracks that you can't help but sing along to," Jimmy says.

We can't wait to see them building the magic in studio.

But that's not the only exciting fusion that takes place this week.

Fans can also look forward to seeing songstress Bucie team up with Zambian artist Cleo Ice Queen in an explosive fusion that will have you dancing across the living room.

Don't say we didn't warn you...

Coke Studio airs on Saturdays, e.tv, 6:05pm.
